The Tesla Powerwall is a fully integrated AC battery energy storage system designed for residential and light commercial applications. It stores energy from a solar system or the electrical grid, allowing stored power to be used during outages, periods of high electricity rates, or when solar production is unavailable.

With 13.5 kWh of usable energy capacity, the Powerwall provides 5 kW of continuous AC power and up to 7 kW peak backup power. Multiple Powerwall units can be installed together for applications requiring additional storage capacity.
