The Generac PWRcell Battery Cabinet is a modular, scalable energy storage solution designed for residential and commercial use, offering flexibility for backup power and smart energy management. Available in both indoor (APKE00007) and outdoor-rated (APKE00028 or APKE00042, Type 3R) configurations, it supports 3 to 6 lithium-ion PWRcell battery modules, providing 9 kWh to 18 kWh of usable storage capacity per cabinet. Two cabinets can be connected to a single PWRcell inverter for up to 36 kWh (or up to 43 kWh in some configurations).

• Scalable Storage: Accommodates 3–6 battery modules (each 3.0–3.6 kWh), allowing upgrades or adjustments to meet specific power needs.
• Flexible Installation: Suitable for indoor or outdoor use (Type 3R enclosure for outdoor models is corrosion-proof aluminum, NEMA 3R rated). Outdoor installations require additional hardware, such as the PWRcell Battery Upgrade Kit (APKE00009).
• Plug-and-Play Design: Integrates seamlessly with PWRcell Inverter and PV Link™ for simplified setup and reduced installation time.
• Power Output: Delivers 3.4 kW to 6.7 kW nominal continuous power (up to 9 kW maximum with 6 batteries) and supports up to 50 amps peak motor starting current for 2 seconds (e.g., starting a 3-ton air conditioner).
• Smart Energy Management: Time-of-use (TOU) and zero-export ready, with compatibility for PWRview app monitoring and ecobee Smart Thermostat Enhanced for real-time energy flow, solar performance, and battery status.
• Certifications and Warranty: ETL, cETL, UL 9540, UL 1973, UL 1642, and CSA 22.2 #107.1 compliant, backed by a 10-year limited warranty.
• Additional Requirements: Requires 3–6 PWRcell battery modules (sold separately) and Generac PWRcell Installer Certification for installation and warranty service. Configurations with 3 or 5 batteries need a PWRcell Spacer Kit (APKE00008).
